The Opportunity
We are working with a long-established Passive Fire Protection contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their team.
The business has been operating within the passive fire industry for over 25 years and has built a strong reputation for delivering commercial fire protection projects across London, Essex and the surrounding areas.
The successful Project Manager will take responsibility for managing a number of live projects across fire stopping, fire doors and intumescent paint/coating works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme and to the required commercial standards.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced passive fire professional looking to join an established contractor with a varied pipeline of commercial work.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will oversee multiple passive fire projects from mobilisation through to completion.
You will work closely with clients, site teams, subcontractors and the wider commercial and operational departments to ensure each project is delivered effectively.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing multiple commercial passive fire projects across London and Essex
- Overseeing works across fire stopping, fire doors and intumescent paint/coating systems
- Managing project programmes, resources and site delivery
- Coordinating site teams and subcontractors
- Monitoring quality, compliance and progress across live projects
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and fire safety requirements
- Liaising regularly with clients and key project stakeholders
- Attending progress meetings and providing project updates
- Identifying and resolving site issues before they impact programme or delivery
- Working closely with Quantity Surveyors and the commercial team to monitor project performance
- Managing variations, additional works and changes in scope
- Supporting procurement of labour and materials where required
- Ensuring health and safety requirements are maintained across all projects
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and records
- Supporting project handovers and completion documentation
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have previous project management experience within the Passive Fire Protection sector.
You will need to be confident managing multiple live projects and comfortable dealing with clients, operatives, subcontractors and internal teams.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous Project Management experience within passive fire protection
- Strong knowledge of fire stopping and/or fire doors
- Knowledge of intumescent coatings would be advantageous
- Experience managing commercial construction projects
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organisational and programme management skills
- Good understanding of quality, compliance and health & safety requirements
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets and variations
- The ability to manage site teams and subcontractors effectively
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and project delivery

Pay: £60,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
