I'm supporting a growing precision engineering business supplying the automotive, motorsport, aerospace and defence sectors. As the company continues to expand, they're looking for a skilled CAM Programmer to join their engineering team and play a key role in delivering world-class components.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you'll be responsible for creating and optimising CNC programs for advanced 5-axis machining centres, developing efficient machining strategies and supporting new product introductions from prototype through to production.
The Role
- Create and optimise CNC programs for 5-axis machining centres
- Develop machining strategies, tooling and setup documentation
- Support program prove-outs and first-off production
- Optimise cycle times and improve manufacturing processes
- Work closely with Machinists, Engineering and Quality teams
- Support prototype and low-volume production projects
About You
- Proven experience as a CAM Programmer within a precision engineering environment
- Experience with multi-axis machining and industry-standard CAM software such as Hypermill, Mastercam, Fusion 360, Edgecam or Powermill
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and manufacturing best practices
- Able to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&T
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement and continuous development
