Duties
- Assist residents or clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Support with medication administration following prescribed protocols to maintain health and safety.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and therapeutic exercises to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor health status by observing changes in behavior or physical condition and report findings promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Provide transportation support by driving clients to appointments or outings while ensuring safety at all times.
- Manage behavior challenges with patience and effective behavior management techniques to foster a calm environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning personal spaces, and maintaining a tidy environment.
- Support hospice or palliative care needs by offering comfort measures and emotional support during difficult times.
- Follow all safety procedures including first aid protocols to respond effectively in emergencies.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and basic first aid certification is preferred.
- Experience supporting senior care or hospice patients enhances your ability to provide empathetic assistance.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers.
- Familiarity with caregiving best practices including behavior management techniques and meal preparation is beneficial.
