We operate over 50 holiday cabins in the UK, around half of which are less than 2 hours from London. This year we have plans to launch several more cabins.
We’re seeking a part time handy person to join the team, to assist with planned cabin improvements, cabin installs, and emergency repairs.
This is a 'mobile' role so you will mostly be on the road visiting our cabins, with the occasional trip to our HQ (close to London Liverpool Street station).
We're looking for someone with a vehicle (all work-related mileage is of course paid).
The work required will cover a wide range of multi-skilled disciplines. Some examples include:
Basic plumbing:
- Finding and fixing leaks
- Clearing clogged U-bends
- Replacing taps
- Replacing toilet seats
Basic electrics
- Connecting 12v appliances (our cabins run on a 12v solar powered system)
- Changing light switches
- Replacing lights
Other
- Fitting fly screens over windows
- Assembling flat pack items
- Re-siliconing shower cubicles
- Replacing window blinds
- Replacing door handles
- Adjusting doors and hinges
- Sanding and varnishing interior and exterior wooden cladding
- Construction and cladding of wooden framework
- Light landscaping i.e. strimming grass, spreading pebbles/bark chips, cutting brambles back
- Putting in fence posts and affixing signage
- Rooftop solar panel inspections (Are they clean? Are they securely fastened?)
- Wood burning stove repairs (i.e. fitting new glass, replacing hinges)
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Handyperson roles
- Great English and good communication skills
- Ability to take ownership and initiative
- Happy working alone
- An abundance of common sense
- Honest and trustworthy
- Professional, with good time keeping
- A clean driving licence
- A basic knowledge of email, calendars and WhatsApp
Job details and benefits:
- Salary: £30,000 to £36,000 per annum (pro-rated) dependant on experience
- Schedule: 2 to 3 days per week, 8am-5pm
