Job Overview
We are seeking 2 experienced HGV Driver Class 1 to join our team. 1 night driver and 1 day driver In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles, primarily flatbed trucks, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various routes. Your expertise in commercial driving will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Container deliveries from the port of Felixstowe and London gateway
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel consumption while meeting delivery schedules
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, daily defect reports,
- Communicate effectively delays, or issues encountered during routes
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company’s reputation through courteous interactions with clients and colleagues
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record 2 years minimum experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver,
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety procedures, and best practices for commercial driving
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities, including cargo handling and route planning
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and customer service
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends as needed
