The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day management of supply chain operations across the Trust, ensuring the timely receipt, storage, distribution, and availability of clinical and non-clinical products.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, leadership capability, and a proactive approach to problem solving within a fast-paced NHS environment.
Supervising the daily activities of the supply chain team to ensure an efficient and responsive service is maintained across all departments
Co-ordinating stock management processes including ordering, receipting, replenishment, stock rotation, and inventory control.
Ensuring wards and departments are supplied with the correct products in a timely manner to support patient care and operational continuity.
Monitoring stock levels and usage trends to minimise waste, reduce stock shortages, and support cost improvement initiatives.
Supporting the implementation and maintenance of inventory management systems and barcode scanning processes where applicable.
Investigating and resolving supply issues, discrepancies, and delivery delays in collaboration with procurement teams and suppliers.
Ensuring compliance with Trust policies, NHS standards, health and safety requirements, and infection prevention procedures.
Producing and maintaining accurate records, reports, and performance data relating to supply chain activities.
Supporting training, induction, and ongoing development of supply chain staff.
Building positive working relationships with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to continuously improve service delivery.
Assisting with service improvement initiatives, product rationalisation programmes, and operational projects across the Trust.
Deputising for senior colleagues where appropriate and supporting operational escalation processes.
