Handyman Stores is an independent DIY, hardware and home improvement retailer serving both trade customers and DIY homeowners. We are looking for a friendly, reliable and knowledgeable Shop Assistant to join our team in Standish.

Key Responsibilities
- Serving and assisting customers
- Advising customers on a wide range of products including tools, hardware, plumbing, timber, doors, fixings and general home improvement supplies
- Supporting both trade account customers and DIY homeowners
- Replenishing stock and merchandising displays
- Helping keep the store tidy, organised and well presented
- Assisting with deliveries and general store duties when required
Requirements
- Good DIY knowledge is essential
- Knowledge of tools, hardware, plumbing, timber, fixings or general building products would be an advantage
- Friendly and approachable manner
- Excellent customer service skills
- Reliable and hardworking attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
DIY knowledge is more important than retail experience.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 5:30pm (with one weekday off)
- Sunday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
The position is available as a full-time role, but we would also consider splitting the hours between two part-time applicants.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
