We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and hands-on Field Care Supervisor to join our domiciliary care team covering Epping and the surrounding areas.
This is a varied field-based role combining care delivery with supervisory responsibilities. You will spend the majority of your working time out in the community, supporting our clients and care staff and helping to ensure that a safe, reliable and high-quality service is delivered.
Please note: this is not an office-based supervisory role. You will be expected to undertake care calls as part of your normal duties alongside your supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Providing high-quality personal care and support to clients in their own homes
- Completing care calls as part of the rota and providing cover where required
- Carrying out new client assessments and supporting the commencement of new care packages
- Completing regular client reviews and ensuring care continues to meet individual needs
- Carrying out spot checks and observations of care staff in the community
- Supporting and monitoring carers to ensure expected standards are maintained
- Identifying and escalating concerns relating to clients, staff or service delivery
- Assisting with the preparation and management of staff rotas
- Responding to changes, sickness and gaps in the rota to help maintain continuity of care
- Participating in the on-call rota, responding to out-of-hours issues when scheduled
- Supporting new carers during induction, shadowing and their introduction to clients
- Communicating with clients, relatives, healthcare professionals and other agencies where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any safeguarding, medication, health or wellbeing concerns promptly
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident working independently in the community and who understands the realities of domiciliary care.
You should:
- Have previous experience working in domiciliary/home care
- Have a good understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding
- Be confident supervising and supporting care staff
- Be able to assess situations and make sensible decisions when working independently
- Be organised and able to manage changing priorities
- Be comfortable dealing with rota changes and unexpected issues
- Be willing and able to provide hands-on care
- Be flexible and willing to participate in an on-call rota
- Have good written and verbal communication skills
- Be reliable, approachable and professional
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to the field-based nature of this role.
