The Role
We are looking for a Car park Engagement Officer to help us manage the 44 car parks we operate across the Peak District National Park. The team will be based in the Corporate Property Team, and work closely with other members of the team.
In the role you will work across our car parks to help visitors use the car parks and associated visitor facilities, assist with their maintenance and cleanliness, and monitor compliance with the Car Park Byelaws.
Your duties will include:
- visiting car parks on each shift to patrol and issue fines if vehicles are not complying with the Car Park Byelaws
- checking the car parks, machines and other visitor facilities
- dealing with any minor issues onsite and reporting things you cannot tackle
- assisting visitors to use the car park machines and answer visitor queries
The role will work on a monthly rota, and shifts will include weekends and bank holidays. The working pattern will be agreed with your manager and will include approx. every other weekend and some bank holidays. The role will be outside and site based, using a vehicle to attend a number of car parks per shift, being outside and visible within the car park.
About You
You will need to be able to communicate with a diverse range of people in a friendly, effective and helpful manner. You will be able to explain processes and procedures in a simple manner for people to understand.
You will have:
- Confidence to deal with non-compliance in car parks, and challenge other anti-social issues and uses of the car parks and surrounding land
- Experience of lone working with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work outdoors and at weekends and bank holidays in all weathers
- Practical maintenance skills and excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of the National Park and Car Parking
- A full, valid driving licence

Flexible Working
A range of flexible working options would be considered including flexible on work pattern.
This role is not suitable for home working as it involves onsite patrols. It is also not suitable for job-share or flexi-time as the operational times of the car parks means patrols are generally required between 9am and 6pm.
