Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, supporting kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards.
- Support the senior kitchen team in food production, ensuring timely delivery of dishes during service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, ensuring ingredients are stored correctly and utilised efficiently.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and innovative cooking techniques.
- Ensure all food served meets the highest standards of presentation, taste, and safety.
- Support the team during busy service times, demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Previous supervising or team management experience is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service hours.
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations within a kitchen environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
