We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join our vibrant team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people living in residential settings. You will lead by example, supporting less experienced team members and ensuring that every child's needs are met with compassion, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs, promoting their emotional well-being and development
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages children to express themselves and build healthy relationships
- Support children with daily routines, including personal care, education, leisure activities, and social interactions
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and progress reports to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, families, and external professionals to coordinate support strategies
- Assist with transportation duties by driving children safely to appointments or activities when required
- Lead by example in promoting good behavior, conflict resolution, and safeguarding practices at all times
Experience
- Proven experience working directly with children or young people in a residential or childcare setting
- Valid driving license with experience in safe driving practices preferred
- Strong understanding of child development principles and childcare best practices
- Ability to develop and implement care plans collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues
- Competency in using IT systems for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm
