Established in 1995, and originally formed as a trading company, Newberry are now leading markets across the globe with innovation that sets market trends for pre-portioned smoothies for the food service, and HORECA industry, and retail clients to the end consumer.
Having recently moved to our new facility in Ledbury, it’s time to expand our team and source the right person to take our fast-paced production facility into the next era.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineering Manager to join a family run business. As a key member of the production leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Engineering Team activities and developing capabilities to meet the needs of the business.
The ideal candidate will have significant relevant experience (ideally 5+ years) leading an Engineering team and be a natural leader with excellent communication and collaboration skills and have a hands-on approach. They will be able to drive change as business evolves, supporting their team and the wider production team, emphasizing a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse Manufacturing Engineering team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment in an agile and dynamic way, tackling unexpected & emerging issues as they arise.
- Analyse current working methods, drive key KPI's and implement improvements to better the efficiency and quality of company processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead and support improvement projects, through effective change management. From minor product and process changes, through to Capex justification and supporting of operations transformational projects.
- Lean Manufacturing: Instil a continuous improvement mindset, developing and mentoring team members in key tools and techniques to drive CI. Foster robustness and stability within Manufacturing Engineering aligned with future business growth plans and production demands.
Requirements
- Hands-on maintenance experience with both electrical and mechanical equipment
- A degree in Engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
- Significant relevant experience (ideally 5+years) leading an engineering team
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Natural leader and change manager
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in a management role
- Able to drive change as business evolves, supporting their team and the wider production team, emphasizing a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
