We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Credit Control Team Leader to join our team in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, a good understanding of credit control processes, and the ability to work accurately to deadlines.
The Role
Based at our offices in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and reporting into the Director/Head of Accounting Services, you will be responsible for credit control across several clients covering the following areas:
· Ensuring debts are collected on a timely basis
· Posting and allocating cash receipts on a daily basis
· Chasing outstanding invoices via telephone and e-mail
· Building relationships with client customers to ensure invoices are clear for payment
· Liaising with clients and their customers to resolve invoice queries
· Monitoring and reporting on aged debtors and debtor days
· Leading client credit control meetings
You will also be responsible for dealing with ad-hoc queries from clients, their customers and internal accounts teams in a timely and efficient manner. You will be responsible for 1 other team member.
About You
To be considered you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
The successful applicant will also:
· have excellent written and verbal communication skills
· have excellent IT skills, including Excel
· have a working knowledge of accounting systems e.g Xero/Sage
· be detail orientated and work to a high degree of accuracy
· have the ability to prioritise their own workload
· be comfortable working both individually and as part of a team
· have a helpful, professional approach.
Experience of working for a firm of accountants or professional services company in a similar position would be an advantage.
