Job Summary:
Join one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects and play a key role in delivering quality excellence on the Euston Station Project. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support the implementation and continual improvement of project quality processes ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and "Right First Time, Every Time."
Key Responsibilities:

Promote a strong quality culture throughout the project team, stakeholders and supply chain, and drive a behavioural approach to “Right First Time, Every Time” Quality culture.

Assist and support the Quality manager to liaise with the client, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on all quality-related matters, ensuring all requirements defined in their standards are met.

Establish strong working relationships with the Quality Team, Project Delivery Teams, and Subcontractors to provide necessary quality support and guidance.

Support collating the data for the corporate reporting as required.
Project Specific:
-
Support the implementation of the Project Quality Management System by providing input and improvements into project-specific procedures, as detailed in the contract and in line with Dragados S.A. QMS.

Liaise with Project functional managers to establish and monitor the schedule of development of the Project’s Management System, as well as facilitate its documentation.
-
Assist the Quality Manager in collating, analysing, and reporting on Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
-
Prepare materials for and attend regular Quality Focus Meetings with the Project Delivery Teams, Client, and Subcontractors.

Chair the Quality Focus meetings in the absence of the Quality Manager.
-
Attend progress meetings to represent the quality function and address any quality-related matters.

Assist in the preparation of Quality Management Reviews.
-
Assist the Quality Manager in review of potential suppliers and subcontractors based on their capability to meet project quality requirements.
-
Assist in the review of the quality plans of sub-contractors and suppliers.
-
Review quality deliverables (e.g., Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Handover Records, Material Compliance Records (MCRs), Samples, Benchmarks and Mock-ups, Calibration Registers).

Liaise with the Project Delivery teams to ensure that all required quality documentation is developed, approved, and distributed prior to the commencement of works.

Liaise with the Project Delivery teams to ensure they comply with Inspection and Test Plans, project’s processes and procedures, and promote self-certification principles.

Maintain the Works Certification Structure and report handover progress on a regular basis.
-
Support the Project Delivery teams in the preparation and progressive compilation of handover documentation and quality records for completed works packages.
-
Maintain the Project’s Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Schedule.
-
Maintain key quality registers, including those for Non-Conformities (NCRs), Observations, and Snagging in liaison with the information management team, and report on progress regularly.

Ensure that all materials and workmanship are in accordance with the project specifications and standards.
-
Perform internal audits and surveillances in accordance with the project’s audit process and audit program to ensure compliance with the approved Inspection and Test Plans, project processes, and contractual requirements.

Prepare and issue internal audit and surveillance reports, detailing observations, good practices, and any identified non-conformances and monitor actions through to closure.

Ensure that non-conformities and complaints are properly identified, documented, and escalated through the project's Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process. Facilitate root cause analysis to identify trends and ensure the effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions to foster continuous improvement.

Investigate quality issues on behalf of the Senior Management Team, as required.

Assist in the implementation and development software solutions for managing quality assurance and control management of the project in liaison with the information management team.

Participate in Lessons Learned workshops to identify opportunities for continual improvement in quality processes and project delivery.

Maintain the Lessons Learned Register in conjunction with the Project functional managers, and disseminate as appropriate to relevant stakeholders.

Deliver project-specific quality training (e.g. ITP, NCR, Snagging, Handover, Quality Induction etc.) to ensure a clear understanding of quality processes and requirements

Provide support to the Quality manager and the Project Delivery Teams as deemed necessary to facilitate the above.
Technical skills and Competencies:
-
Knowledge of ISO 9001.

Understanding of construction processes and techniques and quality management processes (Non-Conformities/Defects, Inspection and Testing, Control of Measuring Equipment etc.), including self-certification processes.
-
Good analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities under pressure.
-
Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to relay potentially complex ideas clearly and simply.
-
Demonstrable experience in conducting quality audits and surveillances.
-
Ability to prepare Quality Reports and create Quality Training modules.
-
Previous experience in using digital quality management systems (such as Asite, ViewPoint, Procore).
-
Proficient in Microsoft 365.
-
A forward-thinking mindset with a proven ability to quickly learn, master, and implement new technologies to drive continuous improvement in quality processes.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
-
Educated to a degree level or equivalent.
-
Membership in a relevant professional body related to Quality or Engineering.
-
Relevant experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
-
Previous experience in similar quality role in construction industry on major construction or infrastructure projects with aligned responsibilities and accountabilities.

Proven experience in leading quality initiatives.
-
Valid CSCS card holder.
