Job Overview
To support the day-to-day running of the workshop by carrying out deliveries and collections, maintaining an organised yard and assisting with the movement and storage of materials and finished goods.
The successful candidate will be expected to take pride in maintaining a safe, tidy and well-organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Deliveries
- Carry out local and national collections and deliveries using company vehicles.
- Load and unload vehicles safely and securely.
- Ensure delivery paperwork is completed accurately.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks and report any defects.
Yard Duties
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe yard at all times.
- Organise and store incoming materials in designated locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading steel deliveries.
- Move materials around the workshop and yard as required.
- Segregate and manage scrap materials.
Workshop Support
- Prepare materials for production as directed.
- Assist with packing and preparing finished goods for dispatch.
- Deliver materials and consumables to production areas when required.
- General labouring duties to support workshop operations.
General Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks and overhead cranes.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Report low stock levels of consumables to management.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the site.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Forklift truck licence.
- Good practical and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist where required.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Overhead crane experience.
- Knowledge of steel sections and fabrication materials.

Pay: £27,040.00-£31,200.00 per year
