About the Role
Tech Corner is looking for a reliable, knowledgeable and highly sales-driven Sales Assistant / Tech Advisor to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is an important customer-facing role within our store. You will be expected to build rapport with customers, understand their requirements and provide knowledgeable advice across our range of mobile phones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches, accessories and repair services.
A major part of this position is maximising retail sales and repair bookings through excellent product knowledge, confident selling and outstanding customer service.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in achieving strong sales results, is dependable and punctual, and is genuinely interested in mobile phones and technology.

Working Pattern
The role will include weekend working.
Current store hours include:
- Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
- Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
- Remaining working days will be arranged on a rota. Shop opens 15 minutes before the trading hours stated above.
Applicants must be flexible with their working pattern where reasonably required.

Experience
A minimum of 3 years' experience in sales and/or customer service is required.
Previous experience within mobile phone retail, telecommunications, electronics, technology or a similar environment is highly desirable.
Full training on our systems, procedures and services will be provided.

Your Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Maximising sales and repair bookings through excellent customer service and product knowledge
- Working towards individual and store sales expectations
- Identifying customer requirements and recommending suitable phones, accessories, repairs and other services
- Providing every customer with a professional and personalised service experience
- Maintaining excellent knowledge of current products, services, promotions and repair options
- Booking phones, tablets, laptops and other devices in for repair
- Explaining repair options and processes clearly to customers
- Contacting repair customers with updates and when devices are ready for collection
- Processing customer orders and sales accurately
- Opening and closing the store when required
- Receiving and checking deliveries
- Keeping the shop clean, organised and professionally presented
- Monitoring stock levels and restocking products
- Ordering sold items, repair parts, customer orders and new stock where required
- Demonstrating a positive, professional and proactive attitude at all times
- Working independently and as part of the team to maintain high operational standards across the store

This is a sales-focused position. The successful candidate should be confident speaking to customers, identifying opportunities and converting enquiries into sales and repair bookings while maintaining excellent customer service.
Product Knowledge
Customers rely on us for knowledgeable advice. You should already have a good understanding of mobile technology and be willing to continually develop your knowledge of phones, tablets, laptops, accessories, specifications, features and repair services.
Reliability
As part of a small retail team, excellent attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential. We are looking for someone who is committed to the position and interested in building a long-term career with the business.

Recruitment Process
Selected applicants will initially be invited to a short face-to-face interview.
Candidates who progress beyond the interview stage may then be invited to attend a practical assessment/trial shift. This gives us an opportunity to assess customer service, communication, product knowledge and sales ability, while also allowing the candidate to experience the working environment at Tech Corner.
