About the Nursery
Bright Starts Thornliebank opened in November 2024 following a comprehensive refurbishment. The setting has been fully modernised with high-quality natural resources, a dedicated indoor baby garden, and a newly appointed staff team.
As occupancy continues to grow, we are expanding our team and are seeking experienced and motivated Early Years Practitioners to contribute to the continued development of our provision.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and deliver high-quality early learning and childcare for children aged 0–5 years. You will be committed to maintaining excellent practice, working in partnership with parents and carers, and adhering to nursery policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, implementing and evaluating meaningful learning experiences
- Supporting and extending children’s development through responsive interactions
- Maintaining accurate records and observations
- Working collaboratively as part of a professional team
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment
Essential Requirements
- SVQ Level 3 or HNC in Early Education and Childcare
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within an early years setting
- Sound knowledge of child development (0–5 years)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
The successful applicant will be subject to PVG checks through Disclosure Scotland.
