Requirements
- Previous experience in an optician is essential.
- Around 12 months’ experience is preferred, although applicants with less experience are still encouraged to apply.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
Work Pattern
- Any 5 days between Monday and Saturday
- 8.5-hour working day
Education
- GCSEs preferred, but not essential. All suitable applicants are welcome to apply.
Main Duties
- Listen to patients and provide clear, effective advice.
- Advise patients on suitable products, lenses and current offers.
- Follow our Standard Operating Procedures and NHS procedures at all times.
- Dispense a variety of lenses and frame options.
- Carry out pre-screening and work closely with the wider optical team.
- Take accurate frame measurements to ensure a comfortable and suitable fit.
- Support patients with collections, adjustments and thorough aftercare.
- Manage the appointment booking system and ensure every patient receives a safe and excellent experience.
- Assist with contact lens fitting trials and aftercare.
- Complete administrative, financial and general supporting duties to help with the day-to-day running of the practice.
