Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly skilled Lead Nurse to join our Children and Adolescent Eating Disorder (CAED) Service. This is a pivotal leadership role within a specialist multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people experiencing eating disorders and their families.
As Lead Nurse, you will bring advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership capability, and a passion for delivering outstanding care within a collaborative, recovery-focused service.
The Lead Nurse will provide advanced clinical assessment, formulation, and intervention for children and adolescents with eating disorders, including complex and high-risk presentations.
While also providing clinical expertise and resource for the team, ensuring care is aligned with current best practice, national guidance, and evidence-based models.
Working alongside the Team Manager to provide strong clinical and professional leadership to the nursing workforce. Overseeing workforce development, including recruitment, retention, and succession planning. Promote a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement, supporting staff wellbeing and professional growth.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
To provide professional and clinical nursing leadership across the service; to contribute to the development and review of the Trust's Nursing Strategy and to lead on its delivery and review within the locality area.
To develop and deliver specialist training, education and development opportunities for nursing staff and as agreed, others.
To lead within the service on promoting clinical innovation and delivering continual development of nursing practice based upon evidence and relevant research. To undertake the role of Practice and Cost Effectiveness Domain lead for the service. To ensure excellence in nursing practice and that service delivery is based on NICE guidelines and other relevant documents and guidance.
To act as service lead in an area appropriate to the service.
To ensure all nursing teams have mechanisms that ensure staff comply with the Code of Professional Conduct and regulation requirements as set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. To support and advise managers in developing supervision for CAMHS nurses in the designated area
To act as a point of contact and nursing resource on all nursing issues relating to the designated area.
To provide and deliver specialist nursing advice and interventions for a caseload of young people with complex needs, and their families and to work closely with the Service Manager and Clinical Heads of Service in order to deliver a person-centred service.
To provide expert nursing advice to patients, carers and staff.
