This is a fantastic opportunity to join a new Sodexo site from August, where the existing catering team will transfer across under TUPE arrangements, offering a smooth transition into a well-established operation.
About the Role
As a General Assistant, you’ll support the delivery of a busy and fast-paced school catering service, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene at all times.
Working within a school environment that operates similar to a hospitality-style service, you will be part of a team responsible for producing and serving meals to pupils and staff during a structured service window.
What You Do:

Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages

Support a high-volume lunch service within a fast-paced environment

Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas

Replenish food displays and service counters during service

Support deliveries and ensure stock is stored correctly

Follow strict food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures

Provide a friendly and professional service to pupils, staff, and visitors

Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or school kitchen environments

Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment

Additional Information
Term Time Only – Pro Rata Pay
This role is Term Time Only. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, providing consistent pay throughout the year, including school holiday periods.
