We are looking for a competent and reliable roofer, or someone eager to launch a new career in the renewables sector, to join our team working primarily on solar PV installations across residential projects.
This is a hands-on, site-based role. It would suit an experienced roofer, or a motivated individual looking to learn new skills, as full training will be provided.
You will be responsible for the roofing elements of solar PV installs, including mounting systems, roof preparation, and ensuring all work is watertight and structurally sound.
Whether you have solid roofing experience or are looking for a rewarding career change, we want someone who takes pride in their work and thrives in a small, fast-moving business where standards matter.
Salary: £30,000-£40,000 dependant on experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Installing solar PV mounting systems on pitched and flat roofs
- Carrying out roof preparation, including tile removal, flashing and weatherproofing
- Ensuring all penetrations and fixings are watertight and in line with best practice
- Working safely at height and in line with health and safety requirements
- Identifying and resolving roofing issues on site, including minor repairs where required
- Supporting the electrical team to ensure smooth installation of panels and associated works
- Maintaining a clean and organised site
- Keeping clear records of work completed, materials used and any issues encountered
What we’re looking for
- Proven roofing experience with solar PV installations (desirable)
- Valid CSCS card
- Confident working at height and using access equipment safely
- Good understanding of roof structures and weatherproofing principles
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs
- Practical, organised and detail-focused
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Manual Handling certification
- Working at Height certification
- Asbestos Awareness certification
- Experience on domestic and/or small commercial sites
- Basic understanding of electrical aspects of solar PV systems
