Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The successful applicant will contribute to delivering high-quality roofing solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine roofing specifications and materials needed.
- Install new roofs using appropriate materials such as shingles, metal panels, or flat roofing systems.
- Repair or replace damaged roofing components, ensuring durability and weather resistance.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required for customised roofing solutions.
- utilise carpentry skills for framing, support structures, or modifications.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to ensure efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing or construction is preferred.
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to roofing projects.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong understanding of construction principles including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and general building practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights comfortably.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Relevant safety certifications or willingness to complete safety training courses.
- Valid UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential. Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering quality workmanship while adhering to health and safety regulations.
