Shape the future of our organisation through strategic people leadership
This is not a traditional HR Business Partner role.
We’re looking for a senior HR leader, already operating at Executive level - influencing organisational strategy, shaping senior decision-making and leading complex transformation through people. If your experience has been primarily operational or advisory, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.
Do you already deliver in complex environments where you partner with senior leaders, leading transformational change, and developing high-performing teams? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.
We're looking for a
Strategic People Business Partner to join our People Services team. You will act as a trusted advisor, critical friend and strategic leader to EMT and Directorate leadership - owning the development and delivery of our People Strategy, directly impacting organisational performance and building a high-performing, future-ready organisation. You will operate across large, complex directorates, influencing leadership decisions that directly impact organisational performance, regulatory outcomes and customer delivery
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with EMT and senior leaders to shape business strategy through people insight, challenge and commercial thinking
- Own and deliver directorate people strategies aligned to organisational priorities, driving measurable performance outcomes
- Lead organisational design, workforce strategy and capability planning to ensure the business is structurally and strategically fit for the future
- Drive large-scale transformation, embedding sustainable change across complex, multi-directorate environments
- Use data, insight and risk intelligence to influence decision-making and proactively address organisational challenges
- Lead and develop People Partners, ensuring consistent, high-quality, insight-led strategic partnering across the business
You will already be:
- Partnering directly with Executive-level stakeholders, influencing business strategy and outcomes
- Leading organisational design and workforce strategy, not contributing to it
- Accountable for designing and delivering large-scale transformation programmes end-to-end with measurable people and business outcomes
- Leading and developing HR/People professionals in a strategic partnering model
More about you:
- CIPD Level 7 qualified and educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
- Currently operating at Strategic People Business Partner or equivalent level within a complex organisation
- Currently partnering with Executive-level stakeholders, influencing strategic decision-making and business outcomes
- Strong expertise across organisational design, workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, leadership development and cultural change
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing HR / People professionals
- Proven accountability for leading large-scale organisational transformation and change delivery
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and its practical application within a business context
- Excellent stakeholder management, coaching and influencing skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance people outcomes with business priorities
- Highly analytical with experience using people data and insights to drive decision-making
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to deliver service improvements and measurable outcomes for customers
