The education provided within Felix House will match those targets of the National Curriculum with underpinned targeted interventions to ensure all pupils Unique Starting Points and gaps within learning are addressed. The successful applicant will be an inspiring and ambitious classroom practitioner with a desire to support the needs of pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
We are looking for a KS3/4 teacher with a background in either English, STEM or Art & Design based subjects with a willingness to teach a broad range of life skills and personal development opportunities. Please note this role is not suitable for ECTs.
It is essential for the successful candidate to have experience of working within SEMH or SEND.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To undertake the duties of a teacher as indicated in the Teachers Pay and Conditions document.
- Plan and teach well structured lessons, following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work, embedding outcomes agreed in EHC plans
- To teach a broad and balanced curriculum in line with the National Curriculum to learners, some of whom have a wide range of special educational needs, especially social, emotional and mental health issues.
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils - Providing support to pupils who have a range of difficulties taking into account advice and programmes provided by other professionals;
- Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment including contributing to the writing and reviewing of SEN support plans
- To participate in performance management, and undertake training and professional development as appropriate.
- Promoting the ethos of the school ensuring that all are treated with justice, equality and respect.
Please note to be considered for this role you must have a QTS certificate.
