Overview
We are seeking a dedicated MOT Assessor to join our automotive service team. This role involves supporting the vehicle inspection process, assisting with maintenance tasks, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in vehicle mechanics and be eager to develop their skills within a professional environment. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians in a busy workshop setting.
Responsibilities
- vehicle inspections in accordance with MOT testing procedures
- preparing vehicles for testing, including checking tyre pressures, fluid levels, and lights
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks
- vehicle movement around the workshop, ensuring safe handling at all times
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- stock control and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored after use
- Support senior technicians with additional duties as required to ensure smooth workshop operations
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in vehicle maintenance is desirable
- Experience using hand tools and power tools is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills within an automotive environment
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Prior experience in a similar role or automotive environment is a plus but not mandatory
