Groundworker – Tree Surgery

Location: Leatherhead / Chessington (with travel across London & Surrey)
About Us
GraftinGardeners Ltd is a well-established, family-run company founded in 2009. We now run 10 full-time tree teams, along with specialist landscaping and gardening crews. We’re looking for experienced and reliable groundworkers to join our team.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone with experience in tree surgery, landscaping or gardening.
You’ll be working on a wide range of tree surgery jobs across North, South, East, and West London, as well as Surrey.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist tree surgeons/climbers with ground-based support
- Lead small teams on site (if experienced)
- Ensure site safety and follow procedures at all times
- Represent the company in a professional and polite manner
- Use tools such as saws, hedge trimmers, and pruning equipment
- Carry out physically demanding manual work outdoors in all weather
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence
- The right to work in the UK
- Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one)
- PPE preferred (but not essential)
- Previous experience in tree work, landscaping or grounds maintenance
- Able to reliably start work at our Leatherhead yard by 06:30
Desirable (but not essential) Qualifications
- First Aid at Work (+F)
- Woodchipper or stump grinder certification
- Chainsaw tickets
- Chapter 8 (signing, lighting & guarding)
- Aerial Rescue
