Peterborough City Council is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our Children in Care – Corporate Parenting Service. As Corporate Parents, we are committed to ensuring our children and young people have access to the right support and services to help them thrive and achieve throughout their journey in care.
You will play a pivotal role in advocating for our children, supporting the Team Manager, and leading on performance, practice development workshops, and service improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold a caseload of children in care, ensuring high-quality care planning and outcomes
- Lead practice workshops and support newly qualified social workers
- Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with statutory requirements
About You
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualifying experience in children’s social care
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and care planning
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organisational skills
- Experience supporting team development and mentoring staff
