People Lead - Resource & Delivery
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Lead to join a growing technology and service delivery team supporting a major customer programme. This role combines people leadership, resource management and operational support, ensuring teams remain engaged, high-performing and equipped to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Working closely with stakeholders across multiple workstreams, you'll play a key role in supporting employee development, resource planning, performance management and the resolution of people-related challenges. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys coaching and developing others while operating within a fast-paced delivery environment.
The role is hybrid, with regular attendance required on a customer site in Barrow-in-Furness, typically three days per week.
Please note: Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Barrow-in-Furness or be committed to relocating. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
What You'll Do
- Lead and support performance reviews, development discussions and career progression conversations.
- Coach and mentor team members to maximise performance, engagement and professional growth.
- Support delivery teams by understanding operational challenges and helping to drive effective resolutions.
- Act as an escalation point for people, resource and workforce planning issues.
- Assist with resource allocation, workforce planning and recruitment activities to ensure the right skills are available when needed.
- Monitor resource-related costs and support effective budget management.
- Facilitate discussions to resolve concerns, share best practices and support successful service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across technical, operational and management teams.
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience leading or managing teams within an operational, service delivery or technology environment.
- Strong people management skills, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Confidence handling sensitive or challenging conversations in a professional and constructive manner.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Experience managing competing priorities and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Financial awareness and experience supporting resource or workforce planning activities.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to End User Services, Service Desk or Digital Workplace environments.
- Understanding of ITIL principles and service management practices.
- Experience working within customer-facing or managed service environments.
