Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Dispatch Manager to oversee the coordination and management of transportation and logistics operations within our organisation. The successful candidate will ensure efficient dispatching processes, optimise supply chain workflows, and maintain seamless communication across various departments. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily dispatch activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods across multiple locations.
- Manage transportation management systems (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and ERP systems to streamline operations.
- Supervise staff involved in shipping & receiving, warehouse activities, and forklift operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimise freight costs and service levels.
- Monitor profit & loss metrics related to dispatch activities, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies regarding transportation, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records using AS400 systems and other relevant software platforms.
- Lead process improvement projects aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, warehouse management, and customer service to ensure smooth operational flow.
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising logistics or dispatch teams within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as AS400 for inventory control and order processing.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, forklift operation, and warehouse safety standards.
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and managing complex transportation networks.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies aimed at continuous operational enhancements.
- Analytical skills related to profit & loss analysis and cost control strategies.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
- Strong leadership qualities with supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: £24,420.00-£33,400.00 per year
