Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team during night shifts. This vital role involves providing compassionate care and support to children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. Duties
- Supervise children overnight, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the shift
- Support children with daily routines, including personal care, meal times, and bedtime procedures
- Implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication and emotional support
- Monitor behaviour and intervene appropriately to promote a secure environment
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, activities, and progress in accordance with organisational policies
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support children's development and well-being
- Ensure the residential environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming at all times
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a care or childcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding policies
- Competent in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Compassionate, patient, organised, and able to work independently during night shifts
- Basic understanding of care plans and ability to adapt support accordingly
