Production Mixer

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Production Mixer to join our client’s production team in Halstead. This is an important role responsible for ensuring mixed batches are produced accurately and efficiently, consistently meeting customer specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and health & safety. The successful candidate will report to the Section Manager and will need to be reliable, attentive to detail and comfortable working within a busy production environment.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Production Mixer will be responsible for accurately preparing and mixing batches in accordance with customer specifications and agreed recipes, ensuring optimum production efficiency while maintaining strict standards of quality, hygiene, allergen management and safety.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Examine and inspect products for foreign bodies and quality.
- Take particular care when opening bags, sacks and boxes to prevent contamination.
- Accurately measure and use the correct quantities of ingredients in accordance with the approved recipe.
- Check all ingredients against the relevant mixing sheet.
- Ensure pre-mixing is completed in line with the agreed production run rate.
- Maintain appropriate mixing speeds without compromising production line speeds.
- Check that all mixing equipment is in good working order before commencing production.
- Complete all required documentation accurately for each mix.
- Follow instructions from the Line Leader where mixing and packing operations are taking place simultaneously.
- Ensure the finished product consistently meets customer specifications.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, food safety and allergen management throughout the production process.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company health and safety requirements.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Supervisor or Manager.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience within a production, manufacturing or food production environment would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and production instructions accurately.
- Good understanding of the importance of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
- Ability to work accurately and consistently within agreed production timescales.
- Comfortable working as part of a busy production team.
- Ability to identify quality issues, contamination risks or equipment concerns and raise them appropriately.
- Reliable, safety-conscious and willing to follow company procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors and line leaders.
