Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Gas Engineer / Plumber to undertake plumbing, heating and gas-related works across refurbishment, maintenance and renovation projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out installations, repairs, testing and maintenance to a high standard, while working safely and in accordance with current regulations and project requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlumbing & Heating
- Install, repair and maintain domestic plumbing systems.
- Install and modify hot and cold-water services.
- Install and maintain central heating systems, radiators, valves and pipework.
- Install sanitaryware, taps, showers, toilets, sinks and associated pipework.
- Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages and plumbing faults.
- Carry out first and second-fix plumbing works.
- Undertake heating system alterations and upgrades.
- Complete pressure testing and system checks.
- Identify defects and report any additional works required.
Gas Works
- Install, service, maintain and repair gas appliances and associated pipework where appropriately qualified.
- Carry out gas safety checks and testing.
- Diagnose gas and heating faults.
- Complete relevant certification and documentation.
- Ensure all gas works comply with current legislation and manufacturer requirements.
- Gas work must only be undertaken within the engineer's current Gas Safe registration and areas of competence.
Refurbishment Works
- Work alongside other trades including electricians, joiners, plasterers and general builders.
- Coordinate plumbing and heating works with the wider refurbishment programme.
- Work from drawings, specifications and site instructions.
- Minimise disruption and protect existing finishes and occupied areas where applicable.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
- Assist with identifying practical solutions to site issues.
Health & Safety
- Comply with company and site health and safety procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE and safety equipment.
- Follow RAMS, permits and site rules where applicable.
- Report hazards, defects and unsafe working conditions.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and used safely.
- Work in accordance with applicable Building Regulations, gas safety requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential
- Relevant plumbing qualification or proven equivalent experience.
- Current Gas Safe registration for any gas-related work undertaken.
- Demonstrable experience in domestic plumbing and heating.
- Experience working on refurbishment and renovation projects.
- Full understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
- Good standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience with boiler installations and servicing.
- Unvented hot-water qualification.
- Experience with system boilers, combi boilers and heating controls.
- Experience working in occupied properties.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant CSCS or other site qualifications where required.

Responsibilities for Documentation
The engineer will be expected to provide relevant:
- Gas safety certificates.
- Installation and commissioning certificates.
- Boiler commissioning documentation.
- Test results.
- Product information where required for the O&M manual.
- Records of remedial or additional works.
Working Conditions
The role will involve working on residential refurbishment, maintenance and renovation projects. Work may include occupied properties, new installations, alterations to existing systems and remedial works.

Note: Gas work must only be carried out by an appropriately qualified and currently registered Gas Safe engineer whose registration covers the specific appliance/system and work being undertaken.
Pay: £180.00-£200.00 per day
