The Role
As a Drama & Screen Acting Club Leader, you will deliver our professionally designed curriculum to groups of primary-aged children, creating an exciting, inclusive and encouraging atmosphere where every child feels confident to participate and engage with the world of drama.
Whether introducing improvisation, character work, storytelling or screen acting techniques, you'll bring creativity, warmth and energy to every session while representing CATS with professionalism.
This role is ideal for professional actors, drama school graduates, performers or experienced drama practitioners looking for rewarding part-time work alongside their creative careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging weekly drama and screen acting sessions using the CATS curriculum.
- Create a fun, safe and inclusive learning environment where every child feels encouraged to participate.
- Inspire confidence, creativity, teamwork and communication through imaginative activities and performance.
- Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities and learning styles across Years 1–6.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, school staff and parents while representing CATS professionally.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and each school's policies at all times.
- Take registers, supervise safe collection and dismissal procedures, and ensure children's wellbeing throughout each session.
- Provide feedback to the CATS team to support parent updates and continuous programme development.
- Promote inclusivity by adapting activities to meet individual needs and cultural backgrounds.
- Help maintain equipment and leave teaching spaces organised after each session.
Requirements
- Previous acting or performance experience (professional, formal or amaetur)
- Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
- Availability to work weekday afternoons during term time (typically 3:00 pm–5:00 pm).
- Willingness to travel to schools across London.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one before employment).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Safeguarding training is welcomed, although training will be provided for successful applicants.
Who We're Looking For

- Proven experience acting in theatre, screen or industry environments.
- Drama school or university drama training
- Theatre, film or television performance or crew
- Drama facilitation or performing arts education
Experience working with children is highly desirable and could include:
- Teaching

- Holiday camps

- Sports or activity coaching
