Summary
We are seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our team at Lathallan Nursery working 17.5hours per week 12pm till 3.30pm. This role is vital in supporting our kitchen operations by ensuring cleanliness and organisation, contributing to a safe and efficient cooking environment for our staff. This role would suit someone looking to make their first step into a Kitchen environment or someone who has pervious experience. Full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area.
- Assist with food preparation as directed by the Nursery Chef.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly and efficiently.
- Help with inventory management by keeping track of supplies and reporting shortages.
- Support the Nursery Chef with basic cooking tasks when needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not essential.
- Basic understanding of food safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
