Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our contract catering team at a high volume site. This role is ideal for a developing chef who is eager to build their skills in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality food across multiple service offers.
The successful candidate will support and take ownership of key food areas, including Hospitality, Grab & Go, and the Salad Bar, ensuring excellent standards of food quality, presentation, and service at all times.
Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week between 7.30am to 1pm
Key Responsibilities
- Hospitality
- Assist in preparing and delivering high-quality food for internal and external hospitality events
- Ensure presentation meets premium standards
- Support the team in meeting specific client requirements and dietary needs
- Grab & Go Offering
- Prepare and maintain a fresh and appealing selection of ready-to-eat items
- Ensure products are well-stocked, labelled, and compliant with food safety standards
- Rotate stock and maintain product quality throughout service
- Salad & Deli Bar
- Prepare fresh, nutritious, and visually appealing salad options
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation throughout service
- Ensure allergen information is accurate and clearly displayed
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
- Support stock control and minimise waste
- Assist with food preparation and basic menu execution
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams
Skills & Experience
- Previous kitchen experience desirable (Commis Chef or similar role)
- Some exposure to contract catering or high-volume food service preferred
- Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow direction
- knowledge of food hygiene and allergens
