Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and energetic Dance Teachers to inspire students ages 4-18 years of varying skill levels through the art of dance. In this role, you will create engaging lesson plans, foster a positive learning environment, and help students develop their technical skills, creativity, and confidence.
We are looking for well established classes to be taken over on a permanent basis, classes currently run on Thursdays and Saturdays. We are open to applications for one, some or all of the genres below, please only apply if you have experience and knowledge in the genres of:
Tap
Ballet
Lyrical
Acrobatic Dance (certifications from Acrobatic Arts, Acrotrix or similar are required)
We currently deliver IDTA Tap and Ballet, so knowledge of this syllabus is highly desirable, or a willingness to learn this quickly.
Duties
- Design and deliver comprehensive dance classes tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
- Develop show choreography for annual performances.
- Foster a supportive studio environment that encourages self-confidence, discipline, and teamwork.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
- Manage student behaviour effectively using positive behaviour management strategies.
- Communicate with parents, guardians effectively on a regular basis.
Skills
- Proven experience teaching dance to with children and teens
- Strong communication skills to motivate students
- Excellent dance technique in your chosen genres to ensure proper demonstration of movement material.
- Willingness to adapt lessons accordingly, depending on numbers and needs of the Academy.
- Excellent behaviour management skills to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Ability to prep and plan technique-based learning as well as show dance choreography.
- Willingness to receive feedback from owner on class design and delivery.
Pay: £20.00-£26.00 per hour
