We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant in Weeton between Preston and Blackpool. The school is a caring, inclusive and welcoming school where every child is supported to flourish. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) as they begin their school journey. The pupil is a happy young child who enjoys sensory play, outdoor learning and creative activities. They benefit from a calm, structured approach, visual supports and a trusted adult to help them access learning and develop independence.

Duties
- Provide one-on-one instructional support
- Assist teachers in implementing tailored lesson plans and behavioral strategies that promote engagement and learning.
- Support children with communication challenges by facilitating effective interactions and encouraging language development.
- Help manage classroom activities, transitions, and routines to create a structured and supportive environment.
- Monitor and document each child's progress, behavior, and responses to interventions, sharing insights with educators and parents as appropriate.
- Support toddlers' care routines, including feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and families to develop consistent approaches that meet each child's specific needs.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with SEND.
- Prior experience in teaching or supporting children within educational or therapeutic settings.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting children with diverse needs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and team members.
- Passion for working with children and a genuine desire to foster their growth and independence.
- Ability to remain patient, flexible, and proactive in dynamic environments involving toddlers or young children.
- Relevant experience supporting children with disabilities or in early childhood care is a strong plus.
