Bucketful of Hope is a growing charity dedicated to supporting people and strengthening communities through compassion, connection and practical support. Based in the heart of Haverfordwest, our café is more than just a place to eat — it’s a welcoming community hub where people come together, feel supported and enjoy good food in a positive environment.
As the charity continues to grow and develop exciting new opportunities within the community, we are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to become part of our journey.
This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who loves creating fresh, comforting food while being part of a meaningful organisation that genuinely makes a difference.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef to lead our kitchen operations and help shape the food offering within our café. You’ll be responsible for preparing and serving quality meals, maintaining excellent hygiene standards and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
This role offers flexibility for kitchen preparation and food planning, alongside regular café opening hours of approximately 10:00am – 4:30pm, with Mondays off.
As the charity expands, there will also be exciting opportunities to contribute ideas, support new projects and grow alongside the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking fresh, high-quality meals and café food
- Managing day-to-day kitchen operations
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
- Assisting with stock control and ordering supplies
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting menu development and seasonal specials
- Working positively as part of a friendly and supportive team
- Helping create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers, volunteers and visitors
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Professional Cookery or equivalent kitchen experience
- Previous experience working within a commercial kitchen or café environment
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Positive attitude with a team-focused approach
- Passion for good food and community values
- Flexibility with food preparation and kitchen hours where required
