Senior Care Assistant – Day Shifts
Salary: £13.75 per hour
Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Working Pattern: 2–3 days per week, depending on the successful applicant
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our friendly residential care home team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care and is confident in leading a care team and taking responsibility for shifts.
The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring our residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care. You will help lead the care team throughout the shift, supporting colleagues and ensuring the smooth running of the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the care team during your shift
- Ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred care
- Supporting residents with their daily care needs
- Delegating tasks and overseeing the team to ensure care is delivered effectively
- Completing and maintaining accurate care records and documentation
- Communicating effectively with residents, families and colleagues
- Responding appropriately to residents' changing needs
- Supporting new and existing team members
- Promoting dignity, choice, independence and respect at all times
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and infection-control procedures
- Taking responsibility for the smooth running of the shift
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a senior care role within a residential care setting
- Confident in leading a team and managing a busy shift
- Caring, compassionate and respectful
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Confident making decisions and dealing with situations as they arise
- Committed to maintaining high standards of care
- A positive role model for other members of the care team
A relevant care qualification such as Level 3 in Health & Social Care and previous experience in a senior care position is essential.
