Role Overview
As a Lead Playworker, you’ll guide a small team and help shape a welcoming, safe and engaging environment for children. You’ll bring energy, reliability and a calm, supportive approach to every session.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead activity sessions that are inclusive, enjoyable and well‑prepared.
- Support and motivate your team to deliver consistent, high‑quality play experiences.
- Maintain a safe environment, ensuring equipment, spaces and activities meet health and safety standards.
- Communicate clearly with parents, schools and colleagues to build positive relationships.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
- Contribute to a setting where children feel happy, supported and excited to return.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience working with children in playwork, childcare or similar environments.
- Strong communication skills and a warm, confident manner.
- A positive, child‑centred approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for planning engaging play opportunities.
- Relevant qualifications (or willingness to complete training).
