Job Summary
The Supply / Bank Nursery Practitioner plays a vital role in supporting nursery operations by providing flexible cover and assistance within our setting. This position involves working with children in a safe, nurturing environment, ensuring their developmental needs are met while maintaining high standards of care and organisation. The role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in early childhood education and management within a dynamic team. Duties
- Assist in supervising and caring for children in accordance with nursery policies and procedures
- Support the delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Provide flexible cover for staff absences, ensuring continuity of care
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support with daily routines such as meal times, nappy changing, and outdoor play
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster positive relationships
- Assist with administrative tasks related to nursery operations as required
Skills
- Experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development
- Strong organisational skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Leadership qualities to support team collaboration and guide less experienced staff or volunteers
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
