A leading independent professional services firm is seeking an Audit Senior to join its city centre team on a permanent basis.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key sections of audit assignments across a diverse client portfolio, working within a structured methodology and UK auditing standards. You will plan and deliver fieldwork, prepare audit documentation, and support the completion of statutory accounts where required.
The position also involves reviewing junior staff work, providing coaching and feedback, and liaising directly with client finance teams. Strong technical knowledge of ISA UK and FRS 102 is essential, alongside excellent organisation, attention to detail and confident communication skills. The role suits a part-qualified, finalist or qualified accountant looking to develop within a collaborative and high-performing audit environment.
- Planning, performing and completing audit fieldwork across a range of client assignments, taking ownership of key sections from risk assessment through to completion
- Preparing and reviewing audit working papers in line with ISA UK standards and internal methodology using audit software tools
- Identifying and assessing audit risks, applying professional judgement, and clearly documenting findings, escalating issues where appropriate
- Supporting the completion and finalisation of audit files, including resolving review points and ensuring quality standards are met
- Assisting in the preparation of statutory financial statements for audit clients where required
- Contributing to engagement planning, including timelines, risk assessment, and resource coordination alongside managers
- Liaising with client finance teams, responding to queries and supporting a smooth and professional audit process
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing clear, constructive feedback and on-the-job guidance
- Maintaining accurate time recording and supporting monitoring of budgets and work-in-progress
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements and firm methodology
