The Welshhomestead Smokery is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Artisan Food Maker to join our small team producing high-quality smoked meats, preserves and chilli jams.
This isn't a factory production line. We're a growing artisan food business where every product is made with care, attention to detail and pride. If you enjoy working with food, like practical hands-on work and want to learn traditional food production skills, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
You'll be involved in every stage of production, including:
- Preparing fresh ingredients
- Following recipes to produce smoked meats and chilli jams
- Cooking and monitoring products to ensure consistent quality
- Filling, packaging and labelling products
- Carrying out quality and weight checks
- Cleaning equipment and maintaining excellent food hygiene standards
- Completing production and traceability records
- Helping maintain the high standards our customers expect

About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with food
- Is reliable, practical and hard-working
- Takes pride in producing high-quality products
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is happy working as part of a small team
- Can follow recipes and procedures accurately
- Wants to learn and develop new skills
Experience
Full training will be provided. However, we'd especially love to hear from people with:
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification
- Previous food production, catering, bakery or kitchen experience
- HACCP knowledge
- Supervisory or management experience within food manufacturing
Applicants with higher-level food safety qualifications or significant food production experience may be offered a higher rate of pay.

Location
We're based at our production facility in Penuwch, near Tregaron. Please note that public transport in the area is extremely limited, so you'll need access to your own transport or a reliable lift to work.
