We're looking for a Recruitment & Compliance Assistant to join our friendly and ambitious team. About the Role
As Recruitment & Compliance Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the recruitment, onboarding and compliance of tutors and staff across Learning Hive.
You'll be responsible for ensuring all safer recruitment checks are completed accurately and efficiently, maintaining compliance records and supporting candidates through the onboarding process.
Alongside compliance, you'll also support the wider recruitment function by advertising vacancies, sourcing candidates, coordinating and conducting interviews, and assisting with tutor placements. You'll deputise for the Recruitment Manager when required, helping to ensure the recruitment process continues to run smoothly.
This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to develop your recruitment, compliance and education sector experience while making a real contribution to the quality of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities - Compliance & Safer Recruitment
- Complete DBS applications and monitor their progress.
- Obtain and verify employment references.
- Carry out Right to Work, identity and qualification checks.
- Maintain the Single Central Record (SCR) in line with statutory requirements.
- Ensure all recruitment complies with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance and Learning Hive's safer recruitment procedures.
- Support candidates through the onboarding process, ensuring all documentation is completed promptly.
Recruitment
- Advertise vacancies across a range of recruitment platforms.
- Source and attract high-quality tutor and staff candidates.
- Screen applications and shortlist suitable candidates.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews.
- Conduct interviews where appropriate.
- Support tutor matching and placements.
- Provide an excellent candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey.
Recruitment Operations
- Deputise for the Recruitment Manager when required.
- Assist with recruitment campaigns
- Help improve recruitment processes and systems.
- Provide general administrative support to the recruitment function.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys building positive relationships while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You'll have:
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and think outside the box
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and online systems.
- A professional, confidential and customer-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in recruitment, HR or compliance.
- Knowledge of safer recruitment within education.
- Experience completing pre-employment checks.
- Understanding of the Single Central Record (SCR).
- Experience advertising vacancies and sourcing candidates.
- Experience conducting interviews.
- Experience working within education, Alternative Provision or another regulated environment.
