Real People Solutions (RPS) are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturer of specialist rubber products, for a Workshop & Production Operative to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career within manufacturing. Full training will be provided across both the Tooling and Millroom departments, giving you exposure to a variety of specialist processes and valuable skills.
Our client manufactures high-quality rubber products for a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical and industrial manufacturing.
Their expertise includes:
- Custom rubber moulding
- Rubber extrusion
- Rubber-to-metal bonding
- Bespoke rubber components, seals, gaskets and O-rings
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position where you will be trained to support both the Tooling and Millroom departments. You will play a key role in ensuring materials are prepared correctly, tooling is maintained and production runs efficiently.
Duties
Tooling Duties:
- Assemble, fit and maintain rubber mould tools
- Support production by ensuring tooling operates efficiently and safely
- Carry out tooling adjustments and minor repairs
- Troubleshoot tooling issues affecting production or quality
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime
- Assist with handling and moving mould tools
Millroom Duties:
- Receive and check incoming materials and deliveries
- Book stock onto internal systems
- Generate job sheets, barcodes and production paperwork
- Weigh, mix, cut and prepare rubber and sponge materials
- Operate mill and rolling machinery following training
- Prepare materials to specification for production teams
What We're Looking For

- Reliable and committed to long-term employment
- Able to work across both departments as required
- Full UK driving licence and own transport essential due to site locations
Desirable:
- Forklift licence
- Previous manufacturing, engineering, warehouse or production experience
