Role Responsibility The SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Architect is the most senior technical authority on the programme, responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the end-to-end SAP solution architecture across all functional and technical domains. Seated in London and operating at the intersection of business strategy and technology execution, you will own the architectural blueprint, drive design governance, and ensure all delivery streams — functional (FICO, MM, O2C), technical (BTP, Integration), and process (Signavio) cohere into a coherent, scalable, and future-ready SAP landscape. This is a high-visibility, client-facing role demanding gravitas, depth of SAP expertise, and the ability to influence at C-suite level.
Core Responsability :
- Own the end-to-end SAP Enterprise Architecture: solution blueprint, landscape design, integration architecture, data architecture, and security/compliance framework.
- Define the target architecture for SAP S/4HANA deployment (greenfield / brownfield / selective data transition) and govern all deviations through an architecture review board (ARB) process.
- Lead architecture design authority sessions across FICO, MM, SD/O2C, BTP Integration, and Signavio workstreams; sign off on all key design decisions.
- Establish and enforce architecture principles, design standards, and guardrails for the full programme including fit-to-standard analysis and custom development governance.
- Drive technical due diligence and solution options analysis for complex cross-workstream integration, data migration, and extension requirements.
- Develop and maintain the Architecture Decision Log (ADL), solution architecture document (SAD), and system landscape documentation.
- Engage directly with C-suite and Senior IT leadership at the client organisation; provide strategic architecture counsel and steer executive-level technology decisions.
- Evaluate build vs. configure vs. buy decisions; ensure SAP Best Practices adoption is maximised and bespoke development is minimised and justified.
- Govern non-functional requirements: system performance, high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and data security (GDPR compliance for London/UK operations).
- Lead architecture governance for BTP platform — Cloud Integration, API Management, Extension Suite — in alignment with the BTP Integration Architect.
- Provide mentorship to all Solution and Technical Architects on the programme; conduct architecture review workshops and quality gate assessments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to ensure SAP RISE/GROW or private cloud landscape is correctly sized and compliant.
- Contribute to client RFP responses, solution proposals, and architecture whitepapers where required.
