An opportunity has arisen for a part time activities support worker to join our wonderful Care home.
You will be tasked with creating and providing a stimulating, varied and enjoyable programme of leisure activities and social events along with our existing activities coordinator. Your goal is to promote residents independence and enhance the quality their lives. You will consider resident wishes needs and abilities and liaise with the care team.
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Ensuring that all our residents have access to a timetable of meaningful activities and are encouraged to participate and carry out 1:1 activities in residents rooms as required
- Facilitate and support outings, walks and entertainment with agreement from our Home Manager.
- Facilitate and support special occasions such as garden parties and birthday celebrations.
- Working with families to gather life-story information to support person-centred activities
- Maintaining accurate records of activity for each resident, including feedback on activities delivered
- Ensuring the Homes activity equipment and resources are kept clean and stored safely after each activity
- Ensuring the health and safety of people who use our services..
- Taking residents into the community on day visits out and meeting their family.
- Joining the monthly resident meeting
Requirements
Good communication skills at all levels with an outgoing personality
Ability to organise and plan in advance and work independently
Need to be creative resourceful and have powers of encouragement
Salary: £13-13.50 per hour
