Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker/Plant Operator to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining plant machinery, assisting with site preparation, and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to a dynamic construction or industrial environment. Prior experience in plant operation or ground work is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Operate various types of plant machinery such as excavators, loaders, and bulldozers in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist with site clearance, groundwork, and preparation activities to facilitate construction or industrial projects.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support the transportation of materials and tools across the site using appropriate vehicles or machinery.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to minimise risks on-site.
- Assist with site organisation, including setting up barriers and signage for safety purposes.
- Report any equipment faults or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Experience
- Previous experience in ground work, plant operation, or construction is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction or industrial sites is beneficial.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently is preferred.
- Physical fitness and stamina are essential for working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail are important for maintaining equipment and adhering to safety standards.
