The Gypsy and Traveller Site Supervisor role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Gypsy and Traveller Site Supervisor!
Working as an integral part of our Neighbourhood Teams you will have responsibility for the operational management of the Gypsy and Traveller Site, including lettings, assisting in income collection and debt control.
Key duties and responsibilities of our Gypsy and Traveller Site Supervisor role:
- Carry out daily inspections of the site providing a pro-active approach to emerging issues, breaches of licence regulations, assessment of environmental condition and security checks.
- Addressing all breaches of licence regulations as and when they occur and ensure the appropriate follow up action in accordance with procedures.
- Operationally responsible for the termination of tenancies on the site including checking the pitch; assessing any damage and obtaining quotes for rectifying damage caused.
- Arranging for work to be carried out and recharges made, where appropriate. Including operational responsibility for the letting of vacant sites in accordance with policy ensuring minimum void loss.
- Welcome new tenants to the site; explain roles and responsibilities; explain use of amenities including cables and meters; provide ‘signposting’ service for other services including Benefits. This includes liaison with other agencies to ensure services delivered to site residents. Pass copies of all completed documentation to Central Office to create accounts.
- Respond to any incidents of unauthorised occupation of the site and take appropriate action.
- Responsible for income and arrears management working with the Income Management Team in respect of rent, rechargeable repairs and visitors rents.
- Monitoring non-payment of debts and instigate procedures including arrangements for repayment.

What we’re looking for in our Gypsy and Traveller Site Supervisor role:
- 4 GCSE passes (at Grade C or above), OR relevant work experience in this field.
- Experience of Housing Management or working with the Community or working on travellers sites.
- Awareness of Support Services and enforcement tools.
- Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to team working.
- Ability to communicate with residents and colleagues effectively.
