Job Summary
Forest-Dene Healthcare Services Limited is looking for an experienced Responsible Individual (RI) to provide senior oversight for an Ofsted-registered children’s home supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is a part-time role for 1 day per week, paid at £400 per week. The successful candidate will provide regulatory oversight, safeguarding assurance, quality monitoring and support to the Registered Manager and provider.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in children’s residential care, Ofsted compliance, safeguarding and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
· Provide senior oversight of the children’s home.
· Support the Registered Manager with safeguarding, compliance and service improvement.
· Review care records, risk assessments, incidents, audits and staff practice.
· Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations.
· Monitor the quality of care provided to children and young people.
· Provide written feedback, action points and assurance following visits.
· Support inspection readiness and regulatory improvement.
· Escalate safeguarding, compliance or practice concerns promptly to the provider.
Requirements
· Strong experience in children’s residential care.
· Previous experience as a Responsible Individual, Registered Manager, senior manager or children’s homes consultant.
· Good knowledge of Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations.
· Strong safeguarding and quality assurance experience.
· Ability to challenge practice constructively and support improvement.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent relevant experience.
